Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Phi Beta Omega Chapter has over 150 active members who have served Montgomery and Bucks counties for almost twenty years.  Our award-winning chapter is diverse in age, educational backgrounds, careers and tenure within our illustrious sisterhood. Awareness, advocacy and action are the primary vehicles for the worldwide delivery of our service initiatives. Prospective Membership

Alpha Kappa Alpha seeks women who will promote and extend its policies and programs while simultaneously providing “Service to All Mankind.”  Our organization does not discriminate based upon race, religion or national origin

Prospective members must have high ethical and moral standards. Membership can only acquired via invitation and be obtained by completing the Sorority’s official Membership Intake Process (MIP);

Graduate Membership Requirements include:

  • High ethical and moral standards
  • Completion of at least a baccalaureate degree with a cumulative average of at least C+ or a graduate degree from an accredited senior college/university;
  • Motivation and ability to promote and extend the policies and programs of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Graduate Membership Process
The Sorority’s official graduate Membership Intake Process (MIP) is by invitation only through a local graduate chapter and may not be solicited. Phi Beta Omega Chapter provides community service and support within Montgomery and Bucks counties. You are welcome to attend our public events and activities to learn more.

The MIP through Phi Beta Omega chapter begins with an Official Letter of Invitation, on our chapter stationery, signed by Phi Beta Omega’s president AND membership chairman. THERE WILL BE NO MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES PRIOR TO RECEIPT OF AN OFFICIAL LETTER OF INVITATION. Participation in MIP activities in the name of the Sorority prior to receipt of this official letter is prohibited. There is neither “pledging” nor a Rush. Candidates should not participate in demeaning, degrading or unkind acts. Should members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority ask you to perform tasks or participate in activities other than those outlined in our MIP, they are in violation of the Sorority’s policies and practices, which can be found at http://aka1908.com/membership/anti-hazing-policy and do not represent the values of the organization. This behavior will not be tolerated.

Candidacy is also contingent upon approval of the required materials submitted by the prospective candidate. Membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will not be extended to any person who knowingly submits falsified documents or credentials.
